Community Event: Meet the Artists
In September, we hosted an intimate chamber concert in Hamburg's Speicherstadt. The focus was on two of our musicians: Juliana Diaz Chico and Yaroslav Kravchuk.
Although still young, both can look back on a remarkable artistic journey and look forward to exciting projects. Yaroslav was the first musician to whom we were able to finance and provide a guitar by Italian luthier Luciano Lovadina through our model. He completed his master's degree at the University of Music, Drama and Media in Hanover this year and is currently passing on his knowledge as a guitar teacher to young musicians. Juliana completed her master's degree at the Lübeck University of Music two years ago. While still a student, she has been engaged as a flutist by the Neue Philharmonie Hamburg and the TaschenOper Lübeck, and since 2019 she has also held a teaching position at the Schwerin Conservatory.
In conversation with Philipp, founder and CEO of Polytone, the young artists talked about their musical careers, their lives as musicians, the importance of their instruments for their careers, the challenge of finding and financing them, and, of course, gave samples of their skills. The two took our audience on an international musical journey through different genres and eras.
The evening concluded with two improvised pieces performed as a trio, as Philipp, himself a cellist, joined the other two for the musical finale.
